I'm half way in and finding this book so extremely disheartening that I don't want to finish it. Anyone else had that experience? Is there any sense of uplift in the second half?

I was her caretaker and am, frankly, relieved to have found something that is as honest as the horrors she suffered. It makes me feel less crazy. Sometimes, there is no uplift, and I'm grateful that Aronson isn't sugarcoating things; I think that's part of what has gotten us here. (less)
