Hi, I'm currently reading The Lies of Locke Lamora and enjoying it. Just to checheck because I have a weak to no appetite for this: how explicit are books 2, 3 and 4 of the series with respect to sexual issues? No offence intended-I just want to make an informed descision about whether or not to carry on. Thanks!

I started with book 2, and it does reference in passing some events, people, and places from the first book but the plot and storyline of book two is …moreI started with book 2, and it does reference in passing some events, people, and places from the first book but the plot and storyline of book two is pretty independent of book one. The events of book one do drive the behaviors of the two main characters to some extent, but book two still makes sense if you haven't read the first one yet.

Long story short, book 2 still makes sense if you haven't read book 1. But you should probably read book 2 before you start book 3.(less)

Does this book speed up? I'm 40% of the way through, and I've found Locke and Jean (Or Leocanto and Jerome should I say) have been going around in circles (doing what I won't say, to keep this free of spoilers) and I'm really struggling to get excited to read it in the same way I was excited constantly to read the first.
