At the end of Chapter 5, Chloe says, "That was the last time I saw my husband alive. At least, that's what I told the police, but I could tell they didn't believe me." Does that not sound like she did see Adam later that day and lied to the police about it? I kept waiting for some new development about the night of the murder and where everyone was at the time.
