The fifth book, DARWIN'S BLADE is only connected by a few mentions of the character Lawrence Stewart, younger brother of Dale Stewart, one of the main characters from SUMMER OF NIGHT.(less)

The silence of snow, the way it and cold weather tend to isolate people and the way Summer seems so far away, almost unreal during Winter all allow the mood of the book to seep in a little deeper...(less)
