There's not enough YA high fantasy nowadays. For everyone looking for an epic, old-school, gorgeously-realized fantasy series, look no further than this. Seriously, why aren't there more books like The Naming being written now instead of the endless fairy tale retellings that keep getting churned out lately?

Winter Neither. This is a book mainly aimed at young teens and those activities were not present in YA books when this one was written.

I am looking ahead to finishing The Naming, and picking up the story in The Riddle. The one I'm reading is called The Naming, and in the first chapter we're introduced to Maerad....is this literally the same book as The Gift? I am just checking, since there are cases when the same text/pages goes by different titles..... Thanks.
