I thought maybe it was supposed to be a sign that Smithback had been “promoted” because of his experiences in Reliquary while Bryce Harriman was “demoted” to working at the New York Post. That being said, I was also confused and find it unlikely they would simply switch positions. I think Reliquary made it clear that Smithback was becoming an accomplished enough journalist his stories were helping to increase and diversify the readership of the New York Post. It’s surprising how they just switched their spots after focusing on those little details in Reliquary. 🤷🏼‍♀️(less)
