Cassandra I think it's just that she would have to stay in the Market. And Lundy's father chose to leave, so he can't fathom why she'd genuinely want to stay. H…moreI think it's just that she would have to stay in the Market. And Lundy's father chose to leave, so he can't fathom why she'd genuinely want to stay. He also disliked the control the Market has over its inhabitants, and notes that it's a (hopefully) benevolent god.(less)

Even after re-reading it I still di t understand the ending. Was the Archivist Mockery? What does Mockery have to do with anything? Was Lundy banned because she tried to cheat the system?
