I remember Leigh mentioned on her KOS Tour right after its launch that she wanted to go to Shu Han in the second book. So I have a hunch that our characters will go on a hunt to find where the khergud are made and the ruthenium sources.

I think Alina will come back. I predict that she might have the first chapter's POV, with Nikolai, Zoya, Tolya and Tamar, and possibly Genya and David telling her that our dear Aleksander has returned. Maybe the Darkling will escape from the bonds and go off to find Alina, not believing the story that she died. I don't know, but I have a hopeful feeling that she will return. Even though she doesn't have her power, she does know the Darkling better than anybody, and Nikolai knows that. It would be stupid of him to not get Alina.

Speaking of returns, perhaps some of the other Crows will show up in KOS2. There were small hints in Crooked Kingdom that they might make appearances in Ravka.

I remember hearing about Sankt Kyrsov and Sankta Kyrsova from the Grishaverse Wiki. Apparently, somebody had an ARC of this book and leaked it by putting their names on the list of Saints on there (the page was edited and now they're not on there anymore). This could just be totally false, but perhaps they will play a big role in the story. I have no idea what would happen with them, but I'm eager to see what happens.

I heard a theory on Tumblr that claimed that the Apparat was Vadik Demidov, the Fjerdan endorsed Lantsov pretender. It's very believable considering all the hints in KOS. The Apparat disappeared when Fjerda announced its support of the pretender, for one. Other than that, I can't exactly remember the other pieces, but reread the first book and if you look, they're there.

Lastly, I have a hunch that Zoya might die. I have no idea if it'll actually happen, but I have a small feeling that it could happen. I have no strong evidence to support this, but I do remember Leigh saying that she cried twice while writing the book in her February newsletter. Additionally, Zoya's new powers after Juris' training and death have made her effectively more powerful than Alina was. Alina got overpowered and was nerfed. It is possible that any Grisha that gets too powerful will get nerfed as well. It's very difficult to write a character that is so strong because any action moments won't be as exciting if the character can always win. Since Zoya was already breaking the orders of Grisha power before she killed Juris, the only way to properly nerf her is to either get rid of her Grisha abilities or to kill her. As I said, I have no proof that this will happen. A Zoyalai endgame would satisfy the fandom (I don't ship Zoyalai, but I'm not entirely opposed to it) but Zoya dying would certainly be a twist. I do like Zoya a lot, so it would make me very sad if she did indeed die.

Is this book series (king of scars + rule of wolves) paranormal, or just fiction/fantasy? And is the main story line about fighting or is there more than that? Not sure if that makes sense lol. Please help as I've herd so much hype about it but I really don't know if this is my style of book.... I would say *adventure* sums up my preference...
