It's a major storyline and it slows things down if that's not of interest to you . . . and I'm not necessarily assuming it doesn't interest you, just pointing out that there are different storylines that take a while to come together.

But I recommend you read through it even if that means you move slower through this book than you might through others. This book provides a lot of foundation for Loew and Dudley, it showcases their ambitions and sets up well for LA Confidential which follows. (less)
