I'm intrigued by this novel... but... I love dogs. My biggest gripe with some of my favorite authors is once a dog lopes onto the scene, I know exactly what's going to happen. I apologize for being such a wimp. And I did read and enjoy Heller's The Dog Stars, so I'm not a totally lost cause... I can read about whole starships getting vaporized, but all it takes is one dog... Should I pass this one up?

Does this book have a real ending or do I have to buy the second one to understand everything?

Zyph I just finished it but have not read book 2 yet. It seems like a complete story. No cliffhanger.

Amazon no longer carries the Kindle version of this book. Is it available anywhere else as an ebook?
