She's the walking definition of insanity as she never improves and never tries a different approach to her chosen career. Stephanie's success relies a bit too heavily on luck and not enough on physical skills. At the very least, she should be training with her gun, learning to get comfortable with it, and getting a concealed carry permit for crying out loud. If she were working any other industry, she'd most likely be let go for failure to improve after this long on the job!!! But on the other hand, we'd miss out on quite a few funny, awkward moments.(less)

At the end of #11, Stephanie is still working for Ranger, & there is no mention of what's next for her career. However, anyone who know Stephanie shouldn't be surprised that a semi-desk job with Ranger isn't going to satisfy this hyperactive lady. I would personally prefer consistant employment with Ranger, but Stephanie goes stir crazy being home for more than a few hours, so it's inevitable that she wouldn't be working at Rangeman for too long.

It would have been nice if Evanovich had addressed this directly, whether at the end of #11 or beginning of #12, but she doesn't. Besides, it would be a bit boring moving forward if Stephanie didn't go back to bounty hunting full time. I mean, how exciting would it be to watch her sticking around an office and only going out on the hunt when Ranger allowed her to join him???(less)

She relies on Ranger and Morelli to get her out of a jam and doesn't make enough money to pay the rent on what is described as a quite utilitarian apartment that somehow people keep being able to break into. After eleven books you would think she would move into an apartment that no one can get into.(less)
