worst ever Reacher novel. Child makes Reacher a caricature of his former self. We always knew he was a big guy, but now he has hands the size of a "supermarket chicken" and he is referred to as "bigfoot" and such. I suspect Child is getting a little tired of the writers life and this character, but has contractual obligations and a financial need to continue. He is likely enjoying the movies getting made. end?

My book arrived today and not the 7th. Will probably finish it before then. It is just as addictive as the best of Lee Child. Anyone agree?

Did anyone else dislike the end "pity f***k" that Child put in the book? Why would Reacher have had sex with the woman, poor her, who was addicted to pain killers and was hurting so badly that she couldn't even touch her face? Did Child look over the book at the end and notice that no one had had sex? So, he added this scene? Stupid. I've been reading Lee Child since his beginning and I'm going to stop now.

I see that The Midnight Line (Jack Reacher #22) is #22 in a series. Is it necessary to read the books in order? Or can I just jump into book #22? Thanks!!
