Edited to add: I have checked "A dictionary of the Sussex dialect and collection of provincialisms in use in the county of Sussex" (https://archive.org/details/sussexdia...), where I find it defined as 'dainty'.
It gives as an example "My master says that this here Prooshian cat what you gave me is a deal too dentical for a poor man's cat; he wants one as will catch the meece and keep herself"(less)
