Wait what day is this coming out? I finished This Savage Song a few minutes ago and I thought ' WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE COMING OUT?!' I LOVED the first one! I just CAN NOT wait for the second one to come out! I am a BIG fan of Victoria Schwab's books!

1. Ilsa needs to feed much less frequently than August, which I believe was implied in the first book.

2. Ilsa found some alternative way of using her song.

3. Since music isn't the only way to bring a soul to the surface, Ilsa might be using one of the alternative methods.

Nr. 1 is unlikely because 6 months is just too long to go without feeding and it's implied at one point that she still does feed.

Nr. 3 is unlikely because the only other way of bringing a soul to the surface (that they're aware of, initially, anyway) is to inflict pain upon the sinner, and I just can't see Ilsa doing that.

Which leaves Nr. 2 as the most likely scenario, imo. Maybe Ilsa can still hum, and her song works via humming. Or she tried a bunch of different instruments and found one her song works with. The cello is supposed to be closest to the human voice, so perhaps it's that. Or she whistles. I don't know. But it really bothered me that it wasn't cleared up.(less)
