I have a hard time trusting the reviews, because the booktubers gives the book great reviews, whereas the YouTube watchers give the book bad review. Feel like the BookTubers are lying just to keep their friend... :( Am I the only one?

But, the negative reviews aren't really unbiased either.

A lot of people hate on the book because they view it as being in the same vein as a celebrity book (i.e. where someone gets a book deal because of their following, not because of their talent as a writer), or like she didn't "earn" her book deal or success as an author.

I think some are hating on it because of the editor too (I *think* it's the same editor that edited The Black Witch).

It's probably best just to read the book if it sounds interesting to you, pass on it if it doesn't, then you can decide for yourself. (less)

Most of the time, you have to contact the publisher and request an ARC, but sometimes an author can request for an ARC to be sent and other times, you can get an ARC at book conventions.

Have to say, there is a lot of hate for this book; the only positive reviews ARE only coming from other youtubers. I love Sasha, but is it really worth reading this book?

I think it helps to find an excerpt or borrow a copy from the library – I may do that because I'm unsure if I'll really love this book. But still curious cause the story sounds cool and it's been described as similar to GotG and the lunar chronicles which i love. (less)

Chapterse 3, 8, 20, 26 & 30 are titled Year 12, 16, 18, 19 & 24. I never got the reference. Is that since someone was born? Since the war ended? Since one of the events in Nexus? thanks!

RayDragonM I believe the Years thing represents the age of the character the POV is for, Klaren. Klaren is the mother of the story's villain, Queen Nor.

(Like in Chapter 3 she is 12 years old.)

However, to be honest, I never understood the Klaren POV Chapters AT ALL. They were super confusing and pretty unnecessary in my opinion. 😓(less)
