As someone that hates the elimination of the expanded universe as canon, this book is quite enjoyable.(less)

Heir to the Empire is a non-canon story primarily following Luke/Han/Leia five years after ROTJ with Thrawn as a major villain. So it doesn't really matter what order you read it in.(less)
