I wonder why the Old Man didn't go back to Zoe in Toronto?

Why did he not try to find her? I had to look back on that too. But I believe as he said several times, he used her and she was convenient to him as a partner/ cover.
The dogs were a great . I kept wondering when 'Ted and Alice' would show.... :-)) Messing around a bit with the old movie title.....(less)

I love this author, but sometimes the words don't translate well to the big or little screen. Does anyone have an opinion about the tv treatment? I haven't seen it. Should I skip it? For reference, I'm in the camp that loves the Outlander tv series :-)
