I liked it and I'd say go for it, especially if you like noir-type stuff.(less)

Hello, u know other crime fiction/non-fiction less noir and more nuanced than Maltese Falcon? About Falcon i liked: much dialogue, told chronologically with homogenous POV, relat. realistic + easy to follow. But i disliked the cartoon-like opposites of hard-boiled guy / effiminate guy / sweet helpless "girl". Aware of Chandler + Highsmith – and who else? I read English + German, dislike gore + violence. Thanks!

When are they going to remake the movie based on this book? I'd like to see it still in the era (1930's) but with the real ending of the book. Who do you think would make a good Sam Spade? Casper Gutman and Joel Cairo? I have a few ideas.....
