I guess Bayta is so…moreThere's still pretty much the same gender roles as in the 50s (with women being housewives, and men getting all the active roles). I guess Bayta is sort of an exception, but I can't reveal more about her. The tech they use is very old-fashioned, too, and the way they communicate with each other doesn't seem too different from when the book was written.

On the other hand, the books deal with general elements of human nature, such as curiosity, comradeship, but also greed, vengeance. Ignorance vs knowledge. In that respect, I think these books are timeless.(less)
