Considering the film, Mothman, did you need to get permission to write something that appears to be the continuing tale or offshoot of this story?

For some reason I missed your question entirely and just discovered it now. To answer, I spent several years researching the legend of the Mothman, which is very well known, as well as the history of the town and the collapse of the Silver Bridge. If you read the book, you'll see I've placed my own spin on all aspects and have much more planned of the same throughout the three book series. The Mothman factors into all three books I have planned in the series, but the next two will also focus on other legends associated with Point Pleasant. As an example, book 2, A COLD TOMORROW uses UFOs and Men in Black, whereas book 3, A DESOLATE HOUR plays off the curse of Chief Cornstalk. I'm not continuing the story of the film, but I am using the basis behind the film (the legend of the Mothman) to tell my own tale. If you read the novel, I sincerely hope you enjoy it!
