By the way, you don't have to read the whole 'On the Prowl' book for this - 'Alpha and Omega' is only one story and the other three are unrelated fantasy by different authors. 'Alpha and Omega' can be purchased separately on Kindle.

However, if you haven't done so already, I would recommend reading 'Moon Called' before reading either of them. This introduces the ideas behind the world, and the characters of Bran and Charles, and explains some background. It's also a fantastic book. :)

Hope that helps.(less)

It's so much better to have this prequel where it belongs!
The Eileen Wilks story is set in her World of the Lupi, but no lupi actually appear in it in person. Kai and Nathan reappear in Night Season as secondary characters, then <spoiler>in the very end of Ritual Magic, and </spoiler> finally take lead roles again in Unbinding.
Karen Chance's two series' (Cassie Palmer & Dorina Basarab) interconnect, and the characters in this story (or at least the female lead) do appear in her books, but I can't recall offhand which ones.
From what other reviews said about "Sunny", I made the decision even before I got my hands on this anthology that I wouldn't be reading anything by her, so I can't help you much there, but I notice that Goodreads does show ON THE PROWL as part of "Monère".(less)
