The second time he went back to the house ("at the urging of his mother") he found her dead at the table with the osprey feather. He was leaving...this part gets confusing. He thinks her body is already on the way home to Virginia, but it's written as if he turns his truck around to go back into the driveway and get the cat. I found the writing of the last chapter unsatisfying, and the epilogue more so.(less)

I had to reread the ending and the epilogue over and over! I didn't understand the letters from the post office to Cam from Santa Fe! I suppose the sweet ending where Lilly runs into the arms of Jon was from her disappointment in finding out Cam had a son with Peaches Davenport?

I thought the book was beautifully written. I also re-read the last chapter and epilogue. It was confusing, but I came to my own conclusions is that what the reader is supposed to do?
