Many libraries throughout the country have excellent eBook programs so you can borrow books on your eReader, as well as borrowing physical books. We need to ensure that we support the institutions that will guarantee that future generations also have access to a wide range of literature.

Because they both had broken families, she "parented" him from a very early age (she is many years older). But I do think the kitchen staffer's comment to Tess at the end of the book is meant to tell us that their relationship has been sexual - and has been since perhaps childhood. Simone looks like Jake's deceased mother, she acts as the only mother he's known, and yet the relationship has been sexual and key to their dysfunction.(less)
