There are a couple of mildly adult themes we paused to talk about as we read, but they are pretty mild and that opportunity to talk is part of what I liked about the book.

Maturity is a different question though because she does bring out some interesting concepts (the word "slut" is used a couple of times--but not in a shaming or sexual way--and the topic of her eating disorder comes up).(less)
