She was constantly fretting about her kits, which distracted her from her duties. Also, she couldn't spend much time with her kits as her Clan needed her. In the end, she decided that all medicine cats, tom or queen, should never have children. That way, they can devote all their time to their Clan and not be pulled into two different directions. It IS hard for those cats, but look at Cinderpelt! She's done it faithfully and had no issue. (less)

I think Crowfeather probably wanted to ask her something about Leafpool, but since Squirrelflight didn't know, she just asked him to wait for the Gathering. Since Leafpool attends the Gatherings as well, Crowfeather then had no reason to use Squirrelflight as the intermediary and could just ask Leafpool how she's doing on his own. That's how I interpreted it.(less)
