That said, if you're up for an entirely less creepy read, Dandelion Wine is still worth reading. :D(less)

Robert Blenheim Although they are not directly connected, they are 'spiritual brothers' and I believe the novel is much more effective after one has known the world o…moreAlthough they are not directly connected, they are 'spiritual brothers' and I believe the novel is much more effective after one has known the world of Green Town in "Dandelion Wine". For reasons difficult to articulate, I would definitely read "Dandelion Wine" first.

By the way, both books are Bradbury's finest works (partly due to them containing personal memories of his own youth) and convey subtle emotional impact sometimes not as strong in his other works. I believe they are key works of the twentieth century and great works of art.

At what age can one read Something Wicked...? I was thinking of picking it for a read-along with my 11yr-old daughter in the lead-up to Hallowe’en, but was wondering whether it’d be maybe too hard or too creepy... or would the pace or writing style get in the way of her/our enjoyment of the story?
