Jim I have lived in both Kansas and Oklahoma and know each of the states. There is train service through Kansas but it does not stop in small towns. The d…moreI have lived in both Kansas and Oklahoma and know each of the states. There is train service through Kansas but it does not stop in small towns. The description of the Great Plains works for both states and the Panhandle of Texas. What doesn't fit is no post office and yet far too many other kind of services for a town of 1,000. Mother's Rest is a mythological town. It is not Lake Wobegon, however.(less)
