I read the Sanctum series first and really liked it. I'm a little frustrated that this series also has rape....Anyone else frustrated that both series have sexual abuse?

Although her books are fantasy/science fiction there is reality in every story. We know that rape is about power. I'm not a psychologist but someone who has lived a few years. Galena was physically raped and although she survived she was "destroyed". Power used abusively or corruptly destroys, look at the world she lives in, what the Earth and society had become. Maybe it was not the author's intention to make a present day societal commentary and only to write an intriguing story; but in either case the outcome was worth the read.(less)
