However at the end of "Shop", there is an excerpt from Chapter 1 of "A Good Yarn" and I honestly felt like I was re-reading "Shop" because Lydia (the main character of "Shop" begins the chapter by reiterating the story almost verbatum from the book. Until I actually read "Good Yarn", I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing that you could start pretty much anywhere in the series and you'd get enough backstory to understand without having to read in order. "Yarn" feels like it's picking up literally where "Shop" left off, so I'm glad that I decided to read them in order. I'm going to do the same with "Cedar Cove" and "Blossom" When I get around to reading those. I'm hoping that with "Cedar Cove", watching the series will a quaint me enough with the characters that I can watch the Hallmark Series on DVD. Hope I didn't bore you with my long-winded answer! =)(less)

The books I've read aren't really short but they are quick reads and the thing I like about them are that they are free of graphic sex and swearing. Those things are okay once in a while but sometimes its way overdone in books these days. (less)
