I was wondering how the memory erase works in True Calling, I thought that was a bit unclear. What's the extend of the memory erase? How much about earth and their past lives do they forget? Like do they forget everything or only memories of people who are left behind?

Great question! The nostalgia elixir was administered to all new residents of Novo upon arrival on the planet (the Vita chip was implanted at the same time). It's sole purpose was to remove memories of those left behind on Earth, to help make the transition from Earth to Novo easier. As described in the book, 'Every unique elixir contained identifiers and transmitters that wiped programmed memories..'
It didn't erase all memories of Earth, just memories of those individuals who weren't selected to move to the new world.
Let's say for example, that when Ariana lived on Earth she went to the movies with 4 friends. Only 2 of those friends subsequently moved to Novo. Ariana will still remember the trip to the movies, but in her memory she went with 2 friends, not 4.
The new government want Novo residents to remember Earth, as it's an inherent part of being 'human'. Also, they deliberately constructed Novo to replicate aspects of Earth, to help people feel more 'at home'. It wouldn't have made sense if they erased everyone's total memories of Earth, hence why they adopted the approach they did.

Is this like a love triangle? The summary says something about Zane in her dreams, but then talks about Cadet Cal Remus... so is that a love triangle or would Zane be Cal actually. If Zane is Cal DON'T TELL ME. Just tell me if this book has any sort of love triangle?
