Why did the author change the book titles when she put them in 1-2, 3-4, etc?

Cause if I'm correct I believe those titles are the ones which were released for UK and were actually the first ones I came across in NZ, the ones that are named Haunted & Twilight and the like are US titles I believe. I'm not sure but I think that's it :) (less)

Not so much about this book or series, but I am looking for something new that is similar to the way she writes with how she interacts with the ghosts? I'm a librarian trying to find something new for a patron who loved this series and how she wrote it.
