I'm trying to read Goldfinch but all I can think about is Stasiland. Given that life is so short, should I feekl guilty about re-reading a book when there are so many new books? NO FREAKING WAY. This is one of the best books around.

VALERIE The Goldfinch was a huge disappointment. Stasiland is much better. No guilt, power on!

I tried to start this book but couldn't even begin because, in the second paragraph the author says she is taking the underground from Alexander Platz to Ostbahnhof, she describes being UNDERground. I don't think "underground" is a term she is using for public transport. Even in 1996, you couldn't take the underground from Alex to Ostbahnhof. Are there other errors in the book? How can it be received as "journalism"?
