Why is the title "Immaculate"? So... does the book imply that the main character was born without sin, or is this just yet again a misunderstanding of the term "immaculate conception"?

While researching her situation, asexually impregnated Mina learns the difference between the immaculate conception of Mary and the virginal conception of Jesus.
