Amongst the 'extras' was a fascinating piece about 'the making of...' which is when I really became conscious of the book. So glad to have got a copy. Doris Kearns
Goodwin, like all the best historians, combines command of her subject with masterful storytelling. The result is an unforgettable read, and the realisation that Abraham Lincon was even more of an extraordinary human being, than I already thought him to be.(less)
