I wish this book was already on the shelves, so I could get a copy before Christmas! I have read and loved all the Flavia deLuce books, and I can't wait to see what she gets up to next! Is there a proposed final book to this series, or is it just going to go on and on (I hope!)?

This book is just as delightful, funny, brilliant and simply engrossing as all the previous books. I'm loving the audio book and trying to savor it as best as possible. Don't want it to end! Is there a sequel in the works?

***SPOILER QUESTION*** How do other readers interpret why Flavia is sent home in the end? Her headmistress frames it as a failure because Flavia has consistently broken rules. I wanted to believe it was because Flavia had learned too much, and it was risky for the school to have her around. Miss Bannerman's final words to her suggest something else, but I'm not sure what.

Another question that I've frequently find myself asking as I read Flavia's stories has to do with the detailed knowledge of chemistry. Mr. Bradley, were you trained in the field, or do you have a handy chemist who helps you with all of these wonderful facts?
