Does this book have a definite ending, or does it end on a cliff-hanger?

Lee It ends in such a way that you wouldn’t need to go on, but it does set up for future adventures.

Is there any LGBTQ+ representation in this book?

Kotschei, chose the codename based on Kotshei the deathless, are all of the agents codenames chosen from book characters? If so is that mandatory?

Shima The book doesn't really explain whether it's mandatory or not, but it seems to be the convention. This is what Irene had to say about it:

I was unhappy with the use of living creatures as weapons, particularly as it seemed intended to be funny, even as the bewildered creatures were being slaughtered after they were no longer a threat. Is this a recurring theme in this series? It is so popular, I thought I might give the second book a try, just in case the series had a slow start. But not if it contains a lot of animal cruelty.

Please tell me this series isn't going to have a love triangle?! I love a slow burn/subtle romance - even if it's a small side element - but I can't do a triangle. *crosses fingers*
