She sits on the other side with her knife, waiting for him to return but he doesn't. The reader is left to assume he forgot or passed out. Deanna sits waiting for him and ends up falling asleep by the door. (less)

However if you can handle skimming them the second half of the book has basically no sex scenes and is pretty much all thriller. (less)
