Does Reacher age in these books? Seeing as the first one came out in 1997 at which point I think he said he had been 14 years in the army, he must be > 60 by now, no?

I think it's time to stop being amazed at Reacher's skills. This time he shows an ability to recall a password he saw the guy type in a sequence of 4 letters 8 numbers 4 more letters. Or is it a skill he has demonstrated before?
