I feel it hanging over my progress like a dark cloud. As I know what happened, but not many of the details that led to their deaths, I find myself wondering when the "shoe will drop" so to speak. It's also very unfortunately that Nicolas didn't change the succession laws or marry his daughters off to other royal courts before all of this took place. There are so many names, places, and words that I wasn't familiar with that I needed to look up. There are no pictures of the hand written letters and diaries, just translations throughout the text.
The only thing to be aware of, is that the book ends at about 60% and the remaining 40% of the "book" is footnotes and photos. The photos are fine to view on the Kindle, but also easily accessible online via google if you want a better view.(less)
Abby Rose Maria, because she was so sweet and gentle and overshadowed by her younger sister, in life and in death.
