It is technically classified as Young Adult although there really isn't anything in here that would exclude it from a middle school collection. It's mentioned that the prince can call any slave girl he wants to please him and a character mentions selling himself for money but, other than that, there is nothing sexual in here. I know that my 7th graders learn about human trafficking in a lesson so, if they are learning about that, I don't see why they couldn't read this book.(less)
