I am surprised by some of the reviews as I found it a gripping and interesting novel. Whilst not the best book I have ever read, it was certainly amongst those I have enjoyed. What do readers consider is the best book by this author?

Maybe some people wanted Tom Rob Smith to write another Leo Demidov sort of story after his trilogy, but I think "The farm" is at least as good as that. I really love his filmic style and the way he makes you want to keep on reading with his typical style of ending a chapter.(less)

Was I the only one who felt like there were so many loose ends that never got explained? What about the mushrooms and the leaves?

It depends on what mental illness the person suffers from and how sever they are. If they suffer from delusions a lot of what they talk about is not real - sometimes. There is no definitive answer really. Because I deal with my ladies 24/7 I know them and can tell when they are making stuff up.(less)
