Sooooo lemme get this straight. Heinlein writes a book about a ninety year old man who invades a young woman's body while her consciousness is still there, and we're NOT supposed to be creeped out by it? The '70s were fucked up.

Isn't it kind of odd that one of the major texts mainstreaming transgender early on was by Robert Heinlein? Think about boys who read it in the 1970's and '80s and how many more of those boys ended up Transgender. And that they might have picked up ideas from someone so... butch. the world is a strange and wonderful place.
