Question, will I be confused if I just read this book rather than the entire "Bane Chronicles"? My only interest in reading it is for James Herondale.

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ nope, not at all! each story can be read by itself

But there is no clear ending to James Herondale story or even hints to what might happen to him. I could never put up with cliff-hangars. Will Magnus meet James again? will we be hearing about the Herondale boy in the other chronicles?
