Just because the subject matter and/or genre "seem" like they've been done before doesn't mean they can't be done well again. That's the challenge that all writers face, after all -- to take a love story or a man v. nature tale and tell it in a fresh and compelling way. (less)

Similar in plot (ragtag group trying to take down a super-powered evil overlord), but fantasy rather than sci-fi and is much deeper because it's intended to be for adults and epic in scope.
