Am I the only one who just could not read this book? Yuk!

Samantha Whaaaat. This and the Sparrow are a few of my favorite books of all time.

What did the people of Rakhat look like? I loved The Sparrow, and liked Children of God. But after finishing the books, I am still not sure whether the Rakhat species resembled bunny rabbits, kangaroos, or something in between. What say you, people of Earth?

Can someone tell me what age Emilio is at the end? I'm not sure how to do the math on that one! I know in earth years he'd be really ancient, but is he only in his 60s in the last scene?

Remember, he was in his mid-30s or so at the beginning of the first mission. It takes 4 years to travel to Rakhat. He spent, I want to say, 4 years there? Then 4 years back to Earth, then another year or two on Earth before returning, 4 more years back to Rakhat, only a couple of months on that trip, then 4 more years back to Earth to the end of the book. So 20 years or so elapsing. I don't even know if he's in his 60s, he might be closer to his 50s, but I'm sure someone smarter than me has this figured out. (less)
