June recalled his hand lingering too long on Thomas's hand and said that Metias never really dated other women. He said that it was because he had to take care of her, but she realizes it's because he was attracted to men. Then, when she confronts Thomas, he says that Metias had told him his "secret". It doesn't say it outright, but I'm pretty sure that the "secret" was Metias coming out to Thomas. Which makes sense, especially because the Republic does seem like it would be a pretty homophobic place...(less)

Legend is where the story starts, and you will not know everything you should if you skip it. Plus, Legend is just a really great book. I would suggest reading them all and in order :) (less)
