So life lesson, in a way that might make a young girl think about her choices. Drugs and sex are not an integral part of this story. The story is about best friends forever....until the end. (less)

The TV…moreThere are huge differences between the Netflix version and the book. Having read the book first I was hugely disappointed in the Tv production. The TV version added a bunch of different inter-personal dynamics that are far from what the book portrayed. I felt the book was pretty much a clone of "Beaches" but still enjoyed it, I hated the TV series. and was really frustrated by it. The book also went in chronological order and the TV version skipped back and forth in time. I feel like the Tv series tried and failed miserably to mimic "This is Us."(less)

Back in the 1960s, parents didn't take well to their unmarried daughter getting pregnant, even though they didn't hold it against the baby. (less)
