Is it still available in any bookstores? I really want to read this novel, 'cause I'm kinda fond of reading about geishas. :)

Joanna K You will find a copy in almost every bigger bookstore in the UK :) I was looking for it in second-hand bookshops but had little luck.

I haven't read this yet, but is it anything like Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton except the setting being feudal Japan, because this is the impression the summary gives me. I found Ethan Frome very upsetting (because of the tragic ending and how hard Ethan tried to run away from his fate). Should I be worried that I may find this book upsetting too?
