This is my first agatha christie book. Should I read them in order? or can I start with this?

? Not finished reading it yet, but I fail to see why Marple et al would assume the body would be anywhere near where it landed...as opposed to being retrieved by the killer and driven far away; or why Lucy is looking in places like a rhododendron bush...it makes no sense to me. This is my first Christie read...might be my last.

What is the story behind this Kindle version of the book?? It’s as though it was translated into a foreign language, say Russian, and then translated back into English by a Russian who only had marginal knowledge of the language. Thought it was a great bargain for $2.60, not so much as it turns out ... very bizarre ... can anyone explain?
