And Teagard…moreI think it just that the name is kind of silly and fanciful. Aurora isn't an uncommon name but it isn't something like Jennifer or Ashley. And Teagarden just comes across as a slightly silly last name. It conjures images of tea parties in meadows (for me at least). The combination of the two makes for a whimsical image that is counter to how Aurora the character is generally perceived.(less)

In my honest opinion, 10 is a bit too young for this book even though it's in cozy mystery territory. I'd suggest getting the first book from your library and trying it yourself; that might be one of the best ways to figure out if your daughter should read it. (less)
